  • My Environ Skincare Journey…

So in the next few weeks I turn 40 and, as I inch closer and closer to the big 4-0, I’m realising that I did not look after my skin the way I should have. I know that I need to start taking better care of my skin. Don’t get me wrong, I cleanse, tone, and moisturize every day, but I’m discovering that things are starting to change and the products I pick up during my grocery store run or from the Avon catalogue isn’t cutting it any longer.
Over the years I have always tried to take good care of my skin by using reasonably good products. I always had the belief that the more expensive the product the better the results will be. In some cases this might be true, however now that I am much-much older and wiser I have come to realise that you have to find what works for your skin. Sometimes the most expensive brands just don’t agree with you, and that’s just fine. Below is a photo of me with no product applied and no image filter was used. I just cleansed with the Sebuwash and took the photo to show you the most accurate state of my skin.
I have always wanted to try Environ and the closest I got was a facial at a beauty salon from time to time. So this time it’s different I made a booking with Yasmine at Chantique Health and Beauty in Constantia. I went for an Environ facial that was absolutely amazing as well as a manicure and pedicure before my wedding day. We discussed my skin concerns and we decided that I should start using the Environ Step-Up System.
These are the products I purchased and I will add some more to my collection when I get back from honeymooning in South America.

The problem is, I start out very optimistic and excited with my new skin care routine, and end up getting lazy somewhere in the middle. Most mornings I am running late and feel overwhelmed and tend to ditch my full skincare routine, so it’s not consistent and therefore I won’t get the results I desire. At the end of the day, I end up with a variety of products and just cross my fingers that they are all actually going to work some magic on my skin. I often find myself admiring other people’s skin, wondering what it is that they do to perfect it and – not just how do I get there – but where do I even start?!
So here I am – starting! I can’t tell you how excited I am to start my Environ skin care journey and team up with Yasmine from Chantique, to guide me every step of the way. Yasmine also specialises in Skin Needling and from the research I have done the results are amazing. When I am back from honeymoon I will go for my first needling session and look forward to sharing my experience on the blog.
In my next Environ post I will take you through my skincare routine step by step.
    So, stay tuned…
