So some of you might be shocked that I have only just had my first chemical peel at the age of 40! I have wanted to go for so long but just never got around to it. OMG! I have missed out and am so upset with myself for not starting sooner.
I went to Chantique Health & Beauty Salon for a Image Skincare mild acid peel which promises to change the image of your skin in one treatment using Vitamin C, glycolic acid and gentle but highly active enzymes to speed up cellular turnover and brighten, tighten and lighten your skin.
This really isn’t like any usual facial. Yasmine wore gloves (to protect her hands from the acid) and was explaining everything to me step-by-step. At every stage of the treatment Yasmine made sure that I wasn’t feeling any discomfort. I felt nothing but relaxed while laying there. Some people feel a mild tingling but nothing painful, and all I was focused on was my glowing skin after the treatment.
The experience was very relaxing! Yasmine gave me a neck and shoulder massage, and even offered to neaten up my messy eyebrows while the product was on my face. Upon leaving the salon I was given some maintenance advice, and using sunblock is of utmost importance. My after-care routine was simple, I continued using my Environ products which includes applying sunblock on top of my moisturiser daily.

To sum up the treatment in one word!…Amazing!. When I left the salon my face had a flawless glow and was super soft. My skin flaked a tiny amount a few hours later, and that was it. The following morning I washed my face and Wow! I was amazed at how soft my skin felt, I was totally blown away by the results.
I will definitely be returning for another treatment, and will make it a monthly thing. It is well worth the price, and I am considering doing other treatments in conjunction with the peel.
